College Placement Exam

Augusta Technical College uses the ACCUPLACER® placement test, which measures knowledge in math, reading, and writing. The placement test does not determine if an individual can attend the College and it is not pass or fail; it simply helps us place students in the college classes that meet their skill level. The ACCUPLACER® test consists of four sections: reading comprehension, sentence skills, mathematics, and elementary algebra.

Prospective students are strongly encouraged to study for the ACCUPLACER® test. The test is not pass or fail; however, minimum scores are required in each section to avoid having to take Gateway Complement classes. The placement test may be taken up to two times.  For more information, read our ACCUPLACER® FAQs .
