AUGUSTA, Ga. — October, 16, 2026 — Augusta Technical College is proud to announce that Stephen Sullivan of Augusta, a student in the college's Design and Media Production Technology (DMPT) associate degree program, has been accepted into the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida.
The Disney College Program is a competitive, paid program that gives college students and recent graduates the chance to work in front-line and backstage roles across Disney's theme parks, water parks, resorts and Disney Springs. Participants also take part in Disney learning and professional development opportunities and build connections that can lead to future careers with the company.
Sullivan will begin the program in January 2027, during Augusta Technical College's spring semester, hopefully in a photography role. After completing his time with Disney, he will return to Augusta Technical College to finish his final semester in the DMPT program, graduate and launch his career in design and media.
"I think the Disney College Program will provide real work experience at Walt Disney World, professional development opportunities, and a chance to network with people in the industry. Since I'm studying Design & Media Production and photography, I think this experience could be beneficial for my career," said Sullivan.
Due to the timing of this opportunity, Stephen will be giving up his role with the Augusta Tech SkillsUSA GAPS team. Stephen competed in the 2026 SkillsUSA GAPS State Leadership and Skills Conference in the T-shirt Design Contest and represented the college well.
"We're so proud of Stephen and wish him well on his journey to Disney. We hope he returns as a seasoned and mature designer ready to head out into the world of design," said Sherrie Rowe, Design and Media Production Technology department head at Augusta Technical College.
