Augusta Technical College to Host Ribbon Cutting Celebrating
Aurubis Richmond’s Investment in Workforce Training Students
Augusta, GA - September 30, 2026
Augusta Technical College will host a ribbon cutting Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 3:30 p.m. to recognize Aurubis Richmond for its generous support of the college, including investments in scholarships, workforce training students and the refreshed outdoor patio space.
The event will take place at the Augusta Tech Augusta Campus, Building 600, 3200 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30906.
Aurubis Richmond’s support has helped refresh an outdoor patio space for workforce training students, creating a welcoming area for students to gather, connect and take a break between classes and training sessions. The company’s broader investment in scholarships and workforce training reflects its commitment to strengthening the local workforce and supporting students as they prepare for high-demand careers in the region.
“We are grateful to Aurubis Richmond for their continued partnership and investment in Augusta Technical College students,” said Dr. Kendricks D. Hooker, president of Augusta Technical College. “This refreshed patio space is more than an outdoor area. It is a visible reminder that local industry partners believe in our students and in their futures in our community.”
The ribbon cutting will bring together college leaders, Aurubis Richmond representatives, students and community partners to celebrate the completed patio refresh and the company’s continued support of Augusta Tech’s workforce development mission.
