Augusta Tech Announces New Scholarship for Construction Trade-
2026 Adult Education Outstanding Teacher of the Year

Augusta, Georgia - December 8, 2025

Augusta Technical College is pleased to announce the creation of the Robert Fields Annual Scholarship to benefit students pursuing instruction in various construction-related fields. This scholarship was created in Mr. Fields’ memory by his cousin, Ms. Adrian Arnold of Sacramento, Calif. Mr. Fields, who passed away in 2011, lived in the CSRA and many of his family members still reside here. The scholarship was announced December 5 during a surprise party at Augusta Tech for his friends and family, including his mother, Mrs. Elease Harris.

“My cousin, Robert A. Fields, was dedicated to a lifetime of improving himself and those around him,” Ms. Arnold said. “As an honor to his mother, Ms. Elease Harris, I chose to financially support the construction trades students at Augusta Tech. Prayerfully, these resources will be used to assist many in improving their educational endeavors in her son's name.”

Adrian S. Arnold is a Clinical Informatics Nurse in California. Originally from Augusta, she says that she greatly admires Augusta Technical College for their commitment to their students and the community.

The scholarship will be administered by the Augusta Tech Foundation, an independent 501(c)3 organization that works to raise and appropriate philanthropic resources to support Augusta Technical College's mission of excellence in workforce education.

“We are delighted to help Ms. Arnold honor her cousin with this new scholarship,” said Cheryl Ciucevich, Augusta Tech’s Vice President for Institutional Advancement. “Although our tuition and fees are much lower than other colleges in the area, most of our students face financial barriers to accessing good-paying, sustainable careers. Scholarships like the Fields Scholarship ensure that more people in our community will be able to achieve their goals.”

Annual scholarships at Augusta Tech can be established with a minimum commitment of $500 per year for at least three years. An endowed scholarship, which will exist in perpetuity, can be created with a minimum gift of $10,000, which can be given in installments over several years. To find out more about funding scholarships at Augusta Tech, contact the Foundation office at 706- 771-4023 or foundation@augustatech.edu.

Four adults stand side by side, smiling, in front of a black backdrop repeatedly printed with the gold seal and name “Augusta Technical College.” From left to right: a woman wearing a light gold, short-sleeve, shimmery blouse; a woman in glasses wearing a black-and-white patterned dress; a woman in a red blazer over a black top; and a man wearing a tan suit with a patterned tie. The two people in the center hold a large ceremonial check made out to the Augusta Technical College Foundation in the amount of $15,000, dated 12/05/2025, designated as a scholarship. The group appears professionally dressed, and the setting suggests a formal scholarship presentation or announcement event.
