Augusta Technical College Foundation's Family First
Campaign Raises Over $36,000

Augusta, GA - October 15, 2025

The Augusta Technical College Foundation proudly announces $36,225 in gifts and pledges for the annual Family First campaign. This year's contributions underscore the Augusta Tech community's continued commitment to supporting its students.

The 2025 Family First campaign, which ran from September 3-17, 2025, focused on directly impacting students’ lives. Family First events were held at all Augusta Tech campus sites, where faculty and staff were encouraged to help bridge the financial gaps many students experience.

“This year’s Family First Campaign achieved a remarkable increase in participation,” said Dr. Beth Sacksteder, Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Development. “In previous years, only a limited number of individuals contributed gifts of $1,000 or more. This year, we proudly welcomed 90 donors, with 16 making contributions at that level, a clear testament to the deep commitment and generosity of our Augusta Tech community.”

Campaign proceeds will support funds to provide essential support to students, including:

  • The Cougar Scholarship Fund: Helping students facing financial hardships.
  • The Student Laptop Fund: Supporting students who need laptops to access coursework.
  • The Student Transportation Fund: Assisting students who need transportation to attend classes.
  • The Lend A Paw Fund: Providing microgrants to students experiencing immediate financial emergencies.

The Augusta Technical College Foundation also introduced the Evergreen Giving Society to honor donors who have given for three or more consecutive years. With more than 50 members, the Society celebrates the steadfast generosity of those whose continued support helps the College grow year after year.

"Augusta Tech’s faculty and staff are truly dedicated to advancing our students and helping them reach their goals,” said Cheryl Ciucevich, Vice President for Institutional Advancement. “By supporting the Family First Campaign and the new Evergreen Giving Society, they help reduce some of the barriers that face most of our students on their journeys to creating meaningful, sustainable careers that will provide for their families and contribute to our shared community.”
