TCSG Commissioner Greg Dozier and TCSG Assistant Commissioner for Adult Education Dr. Cayanna Good presented the prestigious award during the annual Dinah Culbreath Wayne EAGLE Institute at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead on March 4, 2025.

"It is a tremendous honor to be named the 2025 Georgia Outstanding Adult Educator of the Year. Teaching in the Adult Education program at Augusta Technical College allows me to make a meaningful impact, helping students improve their lives in profound ways. These learners are dedicated to bettering themselves, their families, and their futures, and every day, I feel privileged to be a part of their journey. My most fulfilling role is serving as a guide, supporting my students through every step of their educational path. The moments I treasure most are standing beside them at graduation as they receive their high school equivalency credentials, knowing that together," stated Dr. Mabray.

The Adult Education TOTY program honors educators who make a significant impact through instruction, innovation, and leadership in Adult Education. These dedicated professionals contribute to both school and community initiatives, demonstrate a strong commitment to the field, and exemplify excellence in teaching.

"Augusta Technical College celebrates Dr. Mabray on her selection as this year's TCSG Adult Teacher of the Year honoree. She truly exemplifies the characteristics of a stellar educator, and we know she'll represent our institution and the system well over the next year as our advocate across the State of Georgia," stated College President Dr. Jermaine Whirl.

As the Outstanding Adult Education Teacher of the Year, Dr. Mabray will serve as a statewide ambassador for Adult Education in Georgia, representing the TCSG Office of Adult Education (OAE). Throughout the year, she will participate in public appearances—both virtual and in-person—including presentations before the TCSG State Board, college presidents, elected officials, and the General Assembly of the State of Georgia to promote Adult Education initiatives.

In addition to the distinguished title, Dr. Mabray received a $2,500 cash award in recognition of her outstanding contributions.
