Augusta Technical College Design Media and Production Technology (DMPT) student Emily Pinto has been elected to serve as a 2023-2024 SkillsUSA National Officer.

The national officer team leads national conferences including the upcoming 2023 SkillsUSA Washington Leadership Training
Institute and the 2024 National Leadership and Skills Conference. They serve on behalf of over 350,000 student members nationwide. They attend national events and advocate for career and technical education at the request of the SkillsUSA national Executive Director and the national Board of Directors. Emily served as our 2022-2023 SkillsUSA Georgia Postsecondary State
President. She is also a two-time state gold medal winner, earning an Advertising Design state gold medal in 2022 and a Photography state gold medal in 2023. Emily is the first TCSG student to be a SkillsUSA National Officer in over a decade!

The process to become a national officer was a rigorous process including earning the SkillsUSA Framework Certification, earning the CTE Knowledge Certification, earning the Career Essentials Credential (a nearly 30 hour course), passing a SkillsUSA written exam, participating in an interview by national education and industry leaders, and earning a majority of national delegate votes.

Emily has been supported every step of the way by her amazing instructor and advisor DMPT Department Head Sherrie Rowe. Emily is now with the SkillsUSA national office where she is receiving training and being interviewed to determine her official position on the national officer team. Congratulations again to Emily!
