Aherial Polite selected as Augusta Metro Chamber of
Commerce 2024 Top 10 in 10 Young Professionals to Watch


Augusta, GA - May 29, 2024

Dean Aherial Polite, an African American female, smiles with her hair in a bun and wearing a black suit jacket with a colorful dress shirt.Augusta Technical College is proud to announce that Dean for the School of Arts and Sciences, Aherial Polite, has been selected as one of the 2024 Top 10 in 10 Young Professionals to Watch.

This award was developed in 2009 by the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Augusta Magazine to annually highlight ten young professionals (age 25-35) in the Greater Augusta Region. In distinguishing these individuals, the Chamber aims to expand recognition for Augusta’s young professional talent throughout Georgia. The Top 10 are featured in the June issue of Augusta Magazine, and the Chamber nominates these top young professionals for Georgia Trend magazine’s 40 under 40.

"Being recognized as one of the Top 10 Young Professionals to Watch is simply amazing," stated Dean Polite. "This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication I've put into my career, professional endeavors, and academic journey. I am ecstatic about the opportunities that lie ahead and am committed to continuing to grow and make a positive impact in my field and in others' lives. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this adventure. The best is yet to come!"

Polite leads, supports and inspires 29 full time and 23 part time educators. She manages multiple budgets, analyzes, assess and evaluates data, and makes curriculum adjustments. She also assists with student recruitment and engagement, and planning and scheduling classes.

Polite is currently writing her dissertation on the use of apprenticeships in the nuclear workforce and will receive her Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership in 2025.

The 2024 Top 10 in 10 will be honored at the Augusta Metro Chamber’s Member June Economic Luncheon at the Augusta Marriott.
