About Me: Bonita (Jefferies) Jenkins is currently the Military Navigator at Augusta Technical College, a job she began in July 2015. Prior to her current job, she started in 2008 as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations. She had been in the same capacity at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, South Carolina.  As the Military Navigator, she has opened a new Military Service Center, created a Military Lending Library, and developed a plan for military students that helps direct their educational pathways.

Before joining the working world of higher education, she was a seasoned media and marketing professional, with 21 years of experience in television broadcasting. Her career path in television spanned from college intern, administration, production to promotion and marketing manager.

She is very involved in her community through participation and support. Bonita currently serves as a board member on the Augusta Richmond County Coliseum Authority, the Miss Augusta Scholarship Pageant, Campaign Cabinet for United Way; Team Headquarters of The Family YMCA; and an ambassador of the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. She resides in Augusta with her husband, Jay Jefferies, their children, Jaida and Jaden and a canine rescue, Peeper. She enjoys, reading, shopping, traveling, motivating others, and is continually creating and enjoying items on her “life bucket list”.
