Kimberly Holden was born and raised in rural Georgia, in the small town of Cadwell. She became a wife and mother at the age of 18 and lived in Ansbach, Germany for 3 years. Upon returning to the United States, she worked in daycare for three years before a coworker who was attending Augusta Technical College encouraged her to pursue higher education.

She enrolled at Augusta Technical College for her Associate degree and also worked for the college as a work study student. During her time at the college, she was the 2005 State Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) winner for the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG). She continued her education to pursue her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Business and returned to work for the college in 2015 as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations

During her time as the Director, she has facilitated the college's rebrand, implemented the marketing ticket system, increased the college's social media presence and managed all internal and external communication strategies for the college. She also coordinates and executes special events and projects that support the Office of the President and The Augusta Tech Foundation.

Kimberly truly believes in the power and promise of technical education and understands that her role is to influence perceptions about technical education through effective communication.
