The senior group of Medical Assisting student recognized a need to quickly help the families of the recent sugar refinery fire in Savannah. The class organized a project to collect small personal care items from the Augusta Tech faculty, staff and students. Approximately 100 bags were filled with tooth brushes, tooth paste, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, soap and other bath products. Students also collected snacks and filled the bags for families to enjoy. These bags along with bottled water were delivered to Doctors Hospital on Friday, February 22.

The class would like to thank everyone that participated in this community outreach project. It was a huge success for both the students and the families who benefitted from the items.
