Dr. Elizabeth Chamblin, Coordinator of the CSRA Tech Prep Consortium shares her enthusiasm for the signing of the articulation agreements between area high schools and Augusta Technical College.
Pictured in the photo are Interim Richmond County School Superintendent Dr. James Thompson, Dr. Barry O'Neill, Assistant School Superintendent of McDuffie County, Dr. Randall Edmunds, Lincoln County School Superintendent, and Dr. ALuren Williams and Tommy Price of the Columbia County School System.
Documents confirming that area high school students have the opportunity to transfer credit for certain high school courses to college were signed during a meeting at Augusta Technical College attended by school superintendents from Aiken, Burke, Columbia, Lincoln, McDuffie and Richmond counties on February 22.
Educators from the K-12 school systems and Augusta Tech officials have worked together to match up classes and courses that are similar so that students may earn college credit while still in high school. Students who score 85 or better in certain high school classes can get credit for corresponding high school classes as long as they enroll in Augusta Tech within two years. Additional information on "Earning College Credit While in High School" can be researched at http://www.augustatech.edu/TechPrep/earnCollegeCredit.shtml.
