Special guests help celebrate the traditional breaking of the ground for a new Augusta Tech location.


Technical College System of Georgia Commissioner Ron Jackson welcomes guests to the Augusta Tech ground breaking ceremony.

Augusta Technical College broke ground today on the new location for their Columbia County Campus. A host of dignitaries were on hand to witness the customary turning of the soil.

President Terry Elam welcomed guests, faculty and staff to the site. Mayor Dennis Trudeau of Grovetown lead the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. Commissioner Ron Jackson of the Technical College System of Georgia and State Representative Ben Harbin offered their words of appreciation for the support of the facility.

Everyone is in agreement that the facility will greatly enhance workforce and economic development opportunities for Columbia County and its residents.
