President Terry Elam Receives Community Champion Award

The Neighborhood Improvement Project, a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to promote individual, family, neighborhood and community health, named President Terry Elam as one of their Community Champions for 2007 in the category of Education. The award recognizes Mr. Elam's achievements and contributions to the educational success of students through teaching, supportive services, and advocacy.

Other recipients included Ms. Emma Bass for Civic Activity; Ms. Helen Blocker Adams for Economic Growth; Ms. Patricia Jenner, Ms. Della Handy, Ms. Dorothy Jones and Mr. A. J. Landrum for Senior Support; Dr. Angela Wright for Physical and Mental Health Care; and Mr. Bob Garrett for Spiritual Health.

The awards are presented annually to outstanding individuals who have made contributions to the 30906 Zip Code area.
