Denise Anderson wanted a special way to recognize her husband's retirement from work. Robert recently retired from the Augusta-Richmond County Public Services Department, Facilities Management Division this year. He currently serves as a member of the Electrical Construction and Maintenance Advisory Board.

Denise and her family donated the funds to the Augusta Tech Foundation to have a bench inscribed in his honor. The bench has been placed on the front grounds of the 700 building. Students and staff can enjoy sitting on the bench and looking at the Gilbert sculpture.

This is the third bench that has been donated to the College. Two other benches have been donated in memory of Virginia Martin Brown by Pat and Linn Brucker and Shakayla Hawes by the faculty and students of the Head Start Program and Early Child Care Education Program.
