The faculty and staff at the Burke County and McDuffie County campuses participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. In McDuffie County, team captain, Julie Langham, helped coordinate a "Trivia Night for the Fight" at Belle Meade Country Club. Trivia teams of four battled it out for prizes and bragging rights for 2008. $900 was generated by Trivia Night. In addition, the McDuffie Campus also held a yard sale that raised $500. McDuffie County's Relay for Life is scheduled for May 16th and May 17th and the faculty and staff will continue to raise funds that night for the cause.
Team captains Teresa Evans and Monica Natoli and the faculty and staff at the Burke County campus held a hotdog and hamburger sale, a dress down for a cause day, bake sales, breakfast sandwiches, grilled chicken dinners and a silent auction in support of the Waynesboro/Burke County Relay for Life. As a result of their efforts, over $1,900 was raised.
Congratulations to the Burke and McDuffie campuses for being so supportive of such a worthy cause.
