Planters EMC Donates Funds for GED Scholarships

Planters EMC, located in Millen, Georgia, has approved a grant to the Augusta Technical College Foundation in the amount of $2,375 to fund GED Scholarships for students in Burke County. The scholarships, valued at $95.00 each, cover the cost of the GED exam for a student that needs financial assistance. This is the second year that Planters EMC's Operation Round Up Program has funded a grant for GED Scholarships.

Customers can participate in the Operation Round Up Program by agreeing to have their energy bills rounded up to the next highest dollar. The extra change goes to the Operation Round Up grants program and is used by the company to fund worthy initiatives in their service area. Burke County is a part of the Planters EMC service area.
