The North Columbia Fire and Rescue Squad, a now defunct volunteer fire unit based in North Columbia County, recently donated $20,000 to the Augusta Technical College Foundation to fund two new scholarship endowments benefiting the Fire Science and EMT/Paramedic Programs.

Presenting the checks to President Terry Elam was Daniel Harrell, a member of the Board of Directors of NCFR.

The scholarships will benefit students from the communities of Leah, Appling and Winfield.
