The Burke County Campus of Augusta Tech played host to the annual Energy Academy for local students. Sponsored by Southern Nuclear, Georgia Power, IBEW Local 84, Burke County Schools and Augusta Technical College, students from area Burke County Schools were invited to participate in a summer energy camp to help create interest in energy careers as these students look towards college.
Students are exposed to the many different career opportunities in the energy field along with class instruction time on various principles of energy.
 The Energy Academy has become an annual partnership for the Burke community.
