The Waynesboro Campus will present its Pinning Ceremony for the Practical Nursing Students on June 15, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Waynesboro/Burke Campus.  Ms. Beverly Moore will preside and Ms. Ella Jones will provide the welcome and introductions.  The speaker will be Ms. Sarah Lanier, the Practical Nursing department head at the Augusta Campus.  The pinning of the candidates will be presented by Ms. Tamara Youngblood.  The Practical Nursing Pledge and Nurses Prayer will be cited by the Practical Nursing students. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony. 

Ms. Lanier received an Associate Degree of Science in Nursing at Augusta State University in 1977.  Her Bachelor of Science in Nursing was received at the Medical College of Georgia in 1980 and the Master of Science in Nursing in 1990.  She worked at University Hospital as a staff nurse from 1977-1979.  She was a day shift supervisor from 1979-1982.  She began employment at Augusta Technical College as a Nursing Instructor from 1982-1991. She has been the Department Head from 1991 to present at Augusta Technical College. 

Ms. Lanier is a member of the American Nurses Association, Georgia Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau.  Mrs. Lanier has served as Chairperson for the East Central Practical Nursing Consortium, Vice Chairperson for the IFCC Practical Nursing Executive Board, site visit team member for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools/Commission on Colleges, site visit team member for the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, and member of the Evaluation Review Panel for the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
