The Augusta Technical College Foundation is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $2,600 grant by Planters EMC to fund GED Scholarships for Adult Literacy students in Burke County.

Mr. Matt Brinson, General Manager of Planters EMC, and Operation Round Up Board Member, Mr. Wayne Crockett presented a check on May 1st to President Terry Elam and Vice President of Operations, Ms. Ella S. Jones. The check represents funds collected during the company's annual Operation Round Up where electrical bills are rounded up to the next highest dollar and the change becomes a part of their charitable grants funding. The monies will be used to fund 40 GED scholarships to Burke County students working to earn their high school equivalency diplomas through Augusta Tech.
