 Mike Weiksner, Program Chair of Mechanical Engineering Technology
The Augusta Tech faculty and staff are pleased to welcome Mike Weiksner to the instructional staff.
John Michael Weiksner Sr., or Mike as he prefers to be called, joined the Information and Engineering Technology (IET) Division in September of 2007. Mike graduated from Auburn University in 1978 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and began his engineering career in pulp and paper with a division of Proctor and Gamble in Memphis, Tennessee. Subsequent to P&G Mike worked for Kimberly Clark, the Savannah River Site and Aiken Technical College. He held various positions in industry, government and education as a Project Engineer, Production Manager, Cost Account Manager, Maintenance Superintendent, Construction Engineer, Reliability Engineer and Adjunct Instructor. Mike is a licensed PE in the state of South Carolina and certified in predictive maintenance technologies. He has written and published several papers on maintenance and alternative fuels. Mike has lived in Augusta since 1982 and is married with three children. Locally Mike is the Director of AGAPE inner city Augusta ministry and enjoys coaching, boating and biking. He and his family are members of First Presbyterian Church.
