Augusta Tech LPN students are suited up and ready to play
their part in a mock disaster drill.

First and second quarter practical nursing students participated in a multi-event disaster drill at University Hospital. 46 students participated in the event. The event was staged to examine the readiness of the University Hospital staff in the event that such a disaster should occur in our community and in compliance with JCAHO regulations. This was a wonderful service learning opportunity for our students and it gave them a chance to learn first hand the types of things they would face by pursuing their LPN education.
