The Department of Technical and Adult Education recently held its annual Lighthouse Institute at the Augusta Marriott. The Lighthouse Institute provides an opportunity for outstanding technical college classroom instructors to be recognized and rewarded for their dedication, hard work and excellence. In addition to Lighthouse participants being recognized and rewarded for effective teaching in Georgia's technical colleges, the program offers professional development through giving outstanding instructors an opportunity to share their effective teaching techniques and offering exposure to national innovators in teaching. Attending this year's conference were Warren Miller, the Augusta Tech Teacher of the Year; Johnica Mitchell and Sonya Burns of the Waynesboro campus.
