Karen Dempsey Awarded First Medical Assisting Scholarship Karen Dempsey, a Medical Assisting student on the Augusta campus, was awarded the first Medical Assisting Scholarship from the endowment established by Dr. Paul Fischer of the Center for Primary Care. Sam's Club Donates $500 to the Augusta Tech Foundation Sam's Club has approved a $500 grant to the Augusta Technical College Foundation to underwrite GED Test Fee Scholarships. Moore Awarded J.D. Smith Waynesboro Rotary Club Scholarship Vergilia Moore, a student at the Burke County Campus of Augusta Technical College, received the J.D. Smith Waynesboro Rotary Club Scholarship. Foundation Nominates John Deere for National Philanthropy Day Award The Augusta Technical College Foundation nominated John Deere for a National Philanthropy Day Award and they have won the category. Heart Walk Teams Raise $3,493.44 The Augusta Tech Heart Walk Teams raised $3,493.44 in support of the Augusta Chapter of the American Heart Association. United Way Totals Announced Augusta Technical College faculty and staff raised over $12,000 to benefit the United Way of the CSRA.
