Seeking an individual with a Master’s Degree in Nursing. A Doctorate degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred. Must have current Georgia Registered Nurse License (or eligibility for licensure). A minimum of three years of teaching experience in an associate or baccalaureate degree nursing program leading to initial licensure as a registered nurse is required. Experience in educational administration, understanding of the mission and philosophy of technical education, and effective oral and written communication skills are desired. Prior experience in the development, administration, and evaluation of nursing programs is desired. Deadline: Until filled. Primary Responsibilities: Administration 1. Provides academic leadership for the Associate Degree Nursing program. 2. Coordinates development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing curriculum. 3. Monitors alignment of nursing curriculum with state standards. 4. Collaborates with admissions staff to ensure the admittance of qualified students. 5. Monitors student enrollment, retention, and placement data. 6. Coordinates program accreditation and Performance Accountability Review (PAR) visits. 7. Prepares annual program budget, institutional effectiveness plan, and the Performance Accountability System (PAS) report. 8. Participates in the selection and orientation of nursing faculty. 9. Coordinates program advisory committee and attends at least two meetings annually. 10. Directs departmental operations (i.e. preparation of quarterly schedules, ordering of equipment and supplies, inventory of instructional property, equipment, and materials). 11. Maintains necessary program and College documents. 12. Participates in recruitment activities for the College and program. Instructional 1. Develops/updates instructor guidebooks, course syllabi, lesson plans, and evaluations for assigned courses. 2. Prepares for class by selecting appropriate learning experiences as evidenced by the following: updating instructional materials such as handouts, syllabi, and test banks; ordering supplies and equipment; reproducing of materials; using a variety of teaching modalities including instructional technology to augment instruction. 3. Demonstrates knowledge in the following areas: institutional services and policies; degree, diploma, and certificate programs offered by the College; job placement and follow-up; financial aid; library resources, and bookstore operations. 4. Advises current and prospective students. Professional 1. Remains current with trends in nursing education and practice. 2. Maintains credentials and licensure required for profession and position. 3. Submits an annual staff development plan and selects staff development activities based on changes in profession, technical education, and business and industry. 4. Maintains membership in professional organizations.
