Bookstore and Accounting Specialist

Seeking an individual with an Associate Degree in Business, Finance or a closely related field from an accredited institution.  Must have at least two years work related experience.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-to-day overall operation of the bookstore. Responsibilities include customer service, point-of-sale, merchandising, maintaining appearance in the bookstore, shipping and receiving, data entry, data processing, record keeping, inventory control, graduation, and management responsibilities. Assists customers with locating books and supplies, processes special order requests, processes sales through integrated database system, maintains cash control, procures miscellaneous school supplies, promotional items, computer software, and textbooks for sale to students, faculty, and staff. Maintains cost and selling price in integrated database for all school supplies, promotional items, computer software, and textbooks. Coordinates textbook orders and textbook edition changes. Promotes sales of new items on campus. Maximizes use of sales floor area and display space. Keeps all merchandise accessible and displays neatly on shelves and/or on hooks. Keeps all counters clean and free of clutter. Keeps storage area neat and clean to assure organization of work and safety.

Takes physical count of books monthly and reconciles with on-hand report. Takes physical count of books and supplies at the end of each fiscal year and reconciles with on-hand report. Provides customers with graduation information. Processes graduation applications through integrated database system. Furnishes customers with items for graduation.

Receives payment for application fees, tuition, and live work. Prepares bank deposits. Provides and completes employment packets, contracts, and payroll for part-time employees and work study students. Reviews and evaluates purchase orders and invoices. Maintains shipping and receiving documents for accounts receiving department. Receives and distributes refund checks. Collects vending machines refunds and distributes refunds to students. Maintains facility usage requests. Requests and maintains all receipt books. Performs other duties as assigned.
