 2006 Goal Winner Michael Pruitt
Augusta Technical College 2006 GOAL Winner Biographical Sketch This year’s honoree is a Pharmacy Technology major who currently has the highest GPA. in his class. Michael Pruitt has also made the Dean’s List each quarter for more than a year and is President of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Mr. Pruitt was initially motivated to enroll at Augusta Technical College after reading an article in a local newspaper. Michael read the story on instructor Bob Peek’s Pharmacy Technology program and was impressed with several accolades, including the fact that each student completing the program since its inception passed the Certification Exam the first time they took the test. Michael's involvement with Augusta Tech continues outside the classroom with service in the Tutoring Center on his own time for the past six months. His previous work experience included jobs with Castleberry’s in Augusta, Carolina Steel, Archer Daniels Midland Oil Company and he was a former Union Steward for the International Association of Mechanist Aerospace Workers. Michael also served in the United States military and is affiliated with the NAACP. Michael’s ambitions are to complete the Pharmacy Technology program followed by employment prior to completing his education in Savannah where he plans to pursue a doctorate. Augusta Tech’s 2006 GOAL winner spends his leisure time fishing and reading.
