Advisory Committee

A very active component of the program is the ECET Advisory Committee.  This committee represents engineering professionals throughout the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), and helps establish, achieve, and assess program objectives and outcomes.  The committee meets a minimum of twice a year, and advices on current and future needs of the technical field in which graduates are employed. 

Current ECET Advisory Committee Membership

The annual Program of Work lists yearly activities of the advisory committee.  The current Program of Work consists of the following goals:

  1. Hold a minimum of two meetings per year.
  2. Review and approve program objectives and outcomes.
  3. Help in efforts to increase enrollment by supporting public relations activities.
  4. Enhance the program by reviewing the curriculum content and ensure that the program meets needs of the industry.
  5. Assist in efforts to get instructional support to supplement classroom teaching with field experiences.
  6. Provide advice regarding selection and maintenance of equipment and facilities design.
  7. Assist in job development and job placement.
  8. Encourage more qualified and concerned individuals from the industrial setting to serve on the advisory committee.
