The Criminal Justice Technology
Program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare students for a career
in public protection, private security, and corrections.
Program graduates will be competent in the general areas of
communications, mathematics and human relations.
The program of study emphasizes the areas of law enforcement,
constitutional and criminal law, criminal justice, corrections, and
juvenile justice.
Students desiring to be employed in the public
protection sector upon graduation must complete academy training requirements established
by Georgia Code 35-8-8.
Completion
of the Criminal Justice Technology Program may lead to employment in the
following state and local positions but additional training or education
may be required to be eligible for employment.

*Each state and federal agency
has established its own education requirements .Some
agencies have job openings requiring an associate
degree while
others may require a bachelor degree using the CJ
associate degree as the basic foundation.
Those interested in becoming
attorneys-at-law may use the CJ program to give them
an in-depth understanding of the criminal justice
system prior to pursuing a 4 year degree and then
seeking a Law School education.
