Program Duration: 6 quarters

Program Description:

This program emphasizes topics such as perimeter security, virtual private networks, intrusion protection as well as how to combine these technologies in a single, integrated network security solution. This program ties together the content of the Cisco Certified Firewall Specialist, IDS Specialist and VPN Specialist TCCs into one program with the addition of the Cisco SAFE Implementation course which emphasizes security design and integration of all of the security technologies focused on in the Cisco Certified Specialist TCCs. Candidates for this program have either completed the Cisco Networking Academy CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) program and/or have passed the CCNA certification examination.

Program Objectives:

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for a career in network security. The graduate will be able to describe, configure, verify and manage the Cisco security product family. The program helps to prepare students for the CCSP (Cisco Certified Security Professional) certification.
