Program Description:

 

The Networking Specialist program provides students with hands on and technical training in the concepts, principles, and techniques required to successfully design and implement computer networked services in a small to medium sized business. The student will study the elements of Cisco, Microsoft, and associated technologies necessary to create and manage these networks. The successful student will be qualified to join a networking team as a productive entry-level specialist.

 

Program Objectives:

 

The mission of the Networking Specialist program is to prepare knowledgeable qualified entry-level networkers who are able to setup, configure, and troubleshoot local area networks as well as wide area networks.  This is done by creating an environment where students can learn not only the theory of networking, but have sufficient hands-on experience to become certified and be proficient on the job. It is important that graduates from the program be capable of working as team members and adept at interfacing with both management and end users.

 

Employment Opportunities:

 

Networking Specialist Program graduates are in high demand by businesses with planned or existing networked computer infrastructures. Bureau of Labor statistics indicate that computer networking skills will be in high demand for the foreseeable future.
