What to expect:  This course is an introduction to the world of networking.  Naturally, there are many new terms to learn, but terms are not enough, there is so much to learn.  Expect to build your own small network with cables that you make and test yourself.  After building your own small LAN and connecting it to a small hub, you'll build a crossover cable and join another in-class LAN.  From there you will connect to the classroom LAN and finally connect to the campus LAN using different network cards and protocols, linking your LAN and the campus LAN at your desktop.  Along the way, you will get all of those terms, some rules, a lot of do's and don'ts.  Aside from all of this hands-on stuff, this class is designed to prepare you to pass the Comptia Network+ certification test.
