Program Description

Throughout America, changing technology and work methods have created a shortage of workers who are ready to fill the needs of business and industry. In Georgia, strong economic growth and numerous new plant locations, relocations, and expansions mean an even greater demand for skilled workers. The Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education can meet this need. Designed by industry-training professionals, the Certified Manufacturing Specialist program will help provide Georgia’s manufacturing companies with a skilled workforce. Topics covered in the curriculum will include manufacturing organization principles, introduction to business principles, workplace success skills, computers and automation principles, quality and productivity, basic manufacturing skills, and manufacturing skills. High school graduation or GED is required for graduation from this program.
