Program Description

The Basic Machine Operator certificate program is designed for anyone interested in employment in the Machine Tool field to quickly gain the basic skills necessary for entering the job market. It will provide knowledge in blueprint reading, basic machine tools, hand and power tools, precision and semi-precision measuring tools, metal cutting, and general math. After completion of this program, if the student wishes to enter the Machine Tool Technology diploma program, course credit is transferable. Program graduates receive a certificate of credit. High school or GED graduation is required for graduation from this program.

Employment Opportunities

Graduates are employable as machine operators or quality control inspectors. Opportunities are numerous for this field in the CRSA. This program is a result of the increasing demand for machine operators in manufacturing, assembly, and the metal working industry. Most jobs in this field provide security, good pay, and benefits.
