Through this program, eligible students can receive one or more types of financial aid. Financial aid is generally in the form of grants, scholarships, and/or a work-study program. Most financial aid at Augusta Technical College is awarded on the basis of a student's academic progress and proven financial need. Financial need is defined as the difference between a family's resources and the total expenses of attending the College. Augusta Technical College uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to measure a family's financial strength. Information about financial aid is available in the Financial Aid Office in Building 1300 on the Augusta Campus and in the Admissions Offices at the Waynesboro and Thomson campuses. Academic Policies for Financial Aid Federal regulations require the College to establish policies--Standards of Satisfactory Progress--to measure whether students applying for financial aid are in good academic standing and making satisfactory academic progress toward completion of their diploma or degree programs. A student must maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 to receive financial aid and maintain a 67% completion rate. A detailed description of the Standards of Satisfactory Progress policy is available in the Financial Aid Office.
