Special Populations Counseling

Who is eligible for Special Populations Counseling Services?

       Single Parents, Displaced Homemakers, Nontraditional Career-Seekers who are:

• Current Students
  • Part-time Students
  • Full-time Students
• New Students
• Potential Students

How does a student receive Special Populations Counseling Services?

• Self-Referral
  • A student may request assistance for Special Populations Services with the Special Populations Coordinator by coming to the Special Populations Office to schedule an appointment, by calling to schedule an appointment or by sending an email to schedule an appointment.
• Faculty/Staff Referral
  • A Faculty/Staff Member may refer a student by completing the Early Alert Referral Form and forwarding it to the Special Populations Coordinator.
  • The Special Populations Coordinator will contact the student to schedule an appointment.
• Community/Social Services Referral
  • An organization such as DFCS or DOL may request that a current student or potential student set up an appointment by coming to the Counseling Center, by sending an email or calling.
